BEE GEES – WORDS

alapfok
Az 1968-as esztendő egyik legnagyobb slágere, a mára legendássá vált Words a szavak erejéről szól. Olvasd el a szöveget is!

Smile an everlasting smile,
a smile can bring you near to me.
Don’t ever let me find you down,
cause that would bring a tear to me.

This world has lost its glory,
let’s start a brand new story now, my love.
Right now, there’ll be no other time
and I can show you how, my love.

Talk in everlasting words,
and dedicate them all to me.
And I will give you all my life,
I’m here if you should call to me.

You think that I don’t even mean
a single word I say.
It’s only words,
and words are all I have, to take your heart away.

The Bee Gees were 3 brothers – Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb. They wrote this after getting in a few arguments and realizing the power of words – how they can make you happy or sad.

Barry was the only Gibb to sing on this. It was the first Bee Gees single where only one brother sang.

This song was originally written for Cliff Richard, but he never got round to recording it as he wasn’t making an album at the time. Rather than wasting the song, The Bee Gees decided to record it themselves.
