Out-Foxed: Hound won’t share stick with fox friend

This hilarious sequences of images shows the unbelievable interaction between fox and hound pals. Rosie the fox is seen trying to snatch a twig from Maddy the Lakeland Patterdale’s mouth. However, Maddy knows how to deal with sly foxes – a raised paw is the perfect method to block a stick snatcher.

Photographer Richard owler captured  the heart-warming action at his picturesque small-holding nearCorwen, North Wales. The two have become friends after Rosie was left  abandoned when her dad killed most of her littler.

Richard, 45, gave the fox, now 18 month, a home in the Berwyn mountains and she quickly bonded with playful five-year-old Maddy.

He explains: “Throwing the stick is Maddy’s favourite game, Rosie loves to steal ot off of her. They love chasing each other; usually Maddy does the chasing but if Rosie feels she’s not getting enough attention she’ll dive on Maddy to get the game started. Both are very vocal with each other but it never turns nasty. Even though Maddy to a terrier she’s never been a snappy dog. When Rosie has had enough she goes and lays down under the bracken in her enclosure. If Maddy’s had enough she goes and sits by the gate to get let out. They interact about 3-4 times a day. Sometimes if neither of them are in the mood to play they just greet each other by sniffing each other and then just chill out in the sun, it’s not always manic when they are together. Maddy has always been a playful pet and it is a natural instinct for a fax cub to play so it is no surprise they share the same instinct for fun.”
