Dirty Dancing heartthrob, Patrick Swayze, has been secretly fighting a battle against a rampant form of cancer, according to US reports.
He has allegedly been suffering from an aggressive type of pancreatic cancer since the end of January, which has now reportedly spread to his other organs.
The National Enquirer publication claims Swayze is not responding to an advance form of chemotherapy and doctors have given the 55-year-old just five weeks to live.
In a bid to fight on, Swayze has been flying himself in his own Beechcraft aeroplane for ‘radical’ chemo treatment at a cancer unit at Standford University, in Palo Alto, California, the magazine claims.
So affected by the illness, the publication says the actor has lost 20lbs and can only consume liquids and struggles to keep down solids.
A reported source tells the magazine: ‘He was told he could have two more treatments, but his cancer was not responding. In short – they held out little hope for a cure.’
‘It’s time to start praying for a miracle.’
Swayze set female hearts fluttering starring as Johnny Castle, with his hip thrusting dance moves in 1987 chick flick ‘Dirty Dancing’.
He went on to superstardom after starring opposite Demi Moore in Oscar winning tear jerker ‘Ghost’, with further success in bank robbery action flick ‘Point Break’ in 1991.
He met his wife, Lisa Niemi, at the age of 15 during dance lessons from his own mother. They have been married for 33 years.
A spokesperson for the star has not released a statement on the claims.
