A man has been charged with trespassing after climbing a wall close to Buckingham Palace.
Officers at the palace found a man climbing the wall and entering the Royal Mews, which is next to the palace, at 1.25 am on a Saturday, the Met Police said.
Awad Rovalino, 25, has been charged with trespassing as well as attempted theft from a motor vehicle during the same incident.
He’s set to appear at Westminster magistrates court.
Buckingham Palace confirmed there were no royals in residence at the time, Sky News reports.
The Royal Mews is responsible for road travel arrangements for members of the royal family – whether by car or by horse and carriage.
The Gold State Coach, which was used at Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee last year and the King’s coronation this year, is kept there.
